Frank Taylor is a nationally recognized, award-winning biology teacher and author that is best known for his creative, hands-on outdoor teaching activities and is now retired after almost 40 years in public schools. With graduate degrees in both Education (University of Pennsylvania) and Zoology (Virginia Tech), Frank continues to be a life long-learner constantly engaged and immersed in local natural history. His passion has always been the outdoors- biking, kayaking, hiking, back-packing, ice climbing and summiting the highest peaks around the world. Frank continues to share his passion for nature and teaching through his latest venture: “Nature at your Door.”

The swifts have been coming to this chimney since 1957!
The swifts will arrive in Radford from South America in April. Without this chimney, they will have nowhere to roost or nest.
